Whitewater Rivers
Methow River
Whitewater Class -
Description -
The Methow River in northern Washington State is a tributary of the Columbia River.
With its open Ponderosa forests, basalt cliffs, and hot, sunny weather puts you in a land where you can almost taste the heritage of the "Old West". The river is well known for its consistent rapids and waves. Hurricane Rapids, Cinder Block Drop, and the notorious Black Canyon seem a distant memory by the time you reach just Another Roadside Attraction.
The whitewater ends very near the mighty Columbia River going on 20 miles from where you began. It's only about half an hour from the resort towns of Chelan or Winthrop.
